  • We can accommodate up to 180 guests for a wedding here at Avington. For an indoor ceremony our maximum capacity is 110.

  • Yes. We are licensed for civil ceremonies to take place at Avington both indoors and outdoors.

  • Yes; the Avington Estate is only available for exclusive use. 

  • We would advise you use our recommended caterers for a number of reasons; they know exactly how things operate here at Avington, and they provide the highest quality service. If you do have an external caterer you’ve already found, there would be a fee for using them.

    For any other suppliers you are welcome to use recommendations from our list, or find your own dream team.

  • Yes, we do. We have 18 bedrooms in Avington House, sleeping a total of 36 guests. Across the estate there is accommodation for a further 50 people.

  • We have a guest car park close to the front of Avington House with space for approximately 50 cars. For parties larger than this we have overflow car parking in our paddocks.

  • Yes, there is. Access to the Duchess Chandos Suite is guaranteed from 10.30am, allowing you plenty of time to prepare for your big day.

  • We request that any open flame is contained in a lantern or held in a candelabra and kept far away from anything flammable (such as flowers and centrepieces!).

  • As the estate is triple SSI protected, we do not allow fireworks. This also keeps our lovely animals safe and unharmed. Natural eco-friendly, decomposable confetti is allowed outside the house.

  • We have 5ft and 6ft round tables, and 6ft trestle tables available for use at events.

  • DJ’s and bands can set up in the Library, or the Versailles Ballroom. We will monitor their noise levels throughout the evening with a decibel reader.

  • All parties can run until midnight here at Avington. Guests must depart to their bedrooms, or exit the estate, shortly after this.

  • Avington House is a listed building which means that there are frequently steps up and down between rooms, as well as the odd uneven floorboard!

    On the ground floor of the building we are able to position ramps that allow less-mobile guests to navigate these steps between rooms. However, the upper floor of the house is only accessible via a large staircase which may not be suitable for all guests.

  • No! You are welcome to provide your own drinks for your event free of charge.

  • You are not required to have an event planner. However, as we are a dry hire venue we would recommend that you consider working with an event planner to ensure your party runs smoothly. Please see our recommendations here, or chat to the Avington team about your specific requirements.
